The BPM Conference in Utrecht kicks off with an exciting start on Sunday. The day begins with the Doctoral Consortium, a dedicated event designed to provide doctoral students with valuable insights and mentorship from seasoned experts in the field. This is a unique opportunity for budding researchers to learn, network, and exchange ideas within a supportive environment.

As the sun sets, the conference shifts gears to embrace the spirit of sports and camaraderie. Participants are invited to the grand football tournament held at the city’s prominent football stadium, which also serves as the home to the local professional football club. Attendees are encouraged to join and cheer on the brave players, creating a lively and festive atmosphere that brings participants together in a different way.

Monday is a day filled with enriching workshops covering a wide array of topics within the field of Business Process Management. A record-number of eleven workshops are taking place, promising participants a chance to dive deep into specialized areas of interest. These workshops are thoughtfully spread across two charming locations in the city center: the historic University Hall building dating back to 1894, and the iconic city castle Oudaen dating back to 1276 (!).

After an intellectually stimulating day, participants are invited to relax and socialize at De Rechtbank, a venue that once served as the city’s court of justice.

The main conference commences on Tuesday at the striking TivoliVredenburg, a contemporary music complex renowned for its modern design and artistic vibrancy. The day unfolds with a highly anticipated keynote address by Marc Kaptein, representing Pfizer. Following this, participants can delve into a series of research paper sessions, immersing themselves in the latest advancements and findings within the BPM domain. Multiple parallel sessions ensure a diverse range of topics can be explored simultaneously.

During the day, we encourage attendees to indulge in a casual drink at the complex’s cafe, reputed for its excellent negroni, while engaging in lively discussions and exchanging fresh research ideas with colleagues.

As the day draws to a close, participants are invited to stay on for an evening of networking and relaxation, with drinks and light snacks served at the venue. For the members of the steering committee, the night continues with a meeting and dinner at the distinguished Academiegebouw or University Hall.
